Pchum Ben was a 15-day Cambodian religious holiday. Although the holiday was on October 14th, 15th, and 16th, celebrations began in the beginning of the month. When Pchum Ben began, Wats blasted music starting at 4 in the morning until 10 or 11 at night. It was difficult to get any sleep during those few weeks because of the loud music and also my host family waking up at the time.
